The band members draw inspiration from the regions of Ireland, Scotland, Spain, the Balkans, and Polish folk music. Traditional music of those lands became a stimulus for reaching a different, yet very personal musical quality. The band's repertoire comprises both vocal and instrumental ethno-folk music, and its exquisite line-up delivers big time, creating the unique ambience of the band's live performances.
Winners of the 1st prize of the Festival of the Artistic Songs in Ślesin in 2012, as well as the 3rd prize of the Festival of Songs “Poetical Valley” in the same year. The band “Alter Etno” won multiple accolades during the 48th Student Song Festival in 2012 and the International Festival Mikołajki Folkowe in 2011. They performed live in the studio of Polish Radio Three as part of the Concert of the Winners of the 2012 Korowód Festival.
In 2013 the band released their first album "Savin Voda", which expressed musical fascinations of the Alter Etno members since beginning of the group. In 2015 the band published a second album "Dzyń Dzyń" containing nine Polish Christmas carols in a folk arrangement.
