The group came into existence in 1993 in Czeremcha (Podlasie region, near Białowieża Forest and Belarussian border). At present Czeremszyna consist of 9 members with the instruments in the band such as: accordion, guitar, mandolin, bouzuki, violin, bass balalaika, flutes (sopiłki), Slovak pipe, drums and percussion instruments. Musicians sing polyphonic songs in a special, traditional manner called “white” voice.
Podlasie, from which the band come from, is the specific region where many cultures coexist (Polish, Belarussian, Ukrainian) what can be heard in the repertoire of the group. In 2004 “Hulaj póki czas” CD was chosen on the Internet (by the internauts) the Folk CD of the year in “Wirtualne Gęśle” voting. Moreover, the album from 2008 “Uśmiechnij się” was the second in “Wirtualne Gęśle” 2009 voting and the first in the category of the best cover.
In 2004 the band realized the combined musical project with a well-known Belarussian musician Todar (Zmicier Wajciushkievich). It was dedicated to Białowieża Forest. In 2010, Todar and Czeremszyna recorded together the album "Co na sercu..." ("What at heart..."). Czeremszyna performed in many Polish towns and cities and also abroad: in Italy, Germany, France, Sweden, Belgium, Holland, Latvia, Lithuania, Hungary, Russia, Nepal.
In 2005 the group leaders, Barbara Kuzub-Samosiuk and Mirek Samosiuk, came up with the idea of organising the folk festival in the hometown of the group (Czeremcha). Throughout the years it has developed in a prominent event named "Many Cultures and Nations Festival", with ethno and folk stars coming from all over the world at the end of July.
