The band KOSY appeared on the Wrocław stage in the spring of 2019. It was then, on 19 May, that they performed at the Capitol Theatre in the concert "Babskie Granie 2" (Women's Playing 2). Admittedly, not yet in full, but one could already hear what they have been charming fans with ever since. The core line-up, in which they are currently performing, revealed itself in turn on 25 October, in the old district of Wrocław – Nadodrze, in the small room of the Tourist Infopunkt "Łokietka 9", where four girls: Katarzyna Pakosa, Katarzyna Szetela-Pękosz, Aleksandra Gronowska and Anastazja Sosnowska gave their first, such an official concert, and here they confirmed and developed what the listeners had experienced at the Capitol.
They did not have to wait long for their successes, as already in December 2019, during the 29th International Folk Music Festival "Mikołajki Folkowe" in Lublin, they received the Audience Award, which is so valuable for everyone, especially for a debuting artist, and a Prize from the Jury for "excellent use of vocal capabilities in song arrangements". The group also won 2nd prize at the "Strażnicy Tradycji" (Gardians of Tradition) Local Folklore Festival in Siedlecin, which only reinforced their feeling that they were heading in the right direction.
The year 2020 closed musical stages around almost the world, but the girls were not idle. In the summer, they appeared in an interesting project called "Dachy Wrocławia" (Roofs of Wrocław), where they could be heard and seen in action on... the roof of Wrocław University. In November, KOSY went into the studio to record their first album.
The following year again brings important successes. In May, a nother Jury Prize "for expressive stage presence and musical awareness" at the 24th Polish Radio Folk Festival "Nowa Tradycja" (New Tradition) and the premiere of the long-awaited debut album "Siew" (Seeding), on which, in addition to four female voices, one can hear unusual instrumentation such as a harmonium, hurdy-gurdy, fiddle and fiddle. "Siew", on which, in addition to four female voices, one can hear unusual instrumentation such as harmonium, hurdy-gurdy, frame drums, violin, viola. We should add that 'Siew' was awarded of Folk Record of the Year 2022 in the "Wirtualne Gęśle" 2023 poll of Internet users. But this is not the end of the successes in 2022.
Later in the autumn, the four ladies landed in Porto, Portugal, to represent Poland at the 27th World Music Festival WOMEX. It was a great honour. Many of the more established and experienced Polish folk bands would love to showcase at this biggest industry showcase in Europe but KOSY managed to do so just two years after their stage debut! A year later, they appeared in a similar role at the Künstlerbörse Festival in Switzerland. After these successes, KOSY received more foreign invitations to perform at renowned festivals in Austria, Switzerland, Germany, the Czechia, England and at significant festivals in Poland, including the 'Ethno Port' festival in Poznań and the 'New Tradition' festival in Warsaw, followed.
Their passions, skills acquired from various areas of creative activity, musical ideas to present the world local songs from Dolny Śląsk (Lower Silesia region), and diligence were also appreciated by others inviting KOSY to their projects. The girls have had the opportunity to work with such figures, artists and projects as Maria Siwiec, Jan Kmita, Shata QS, DJ PYSH, Agnieszka Franków-Żelazny and the Sudecka Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra. They worked on the film "Dzień i noc" (Day and Night) and the play "Słowianie" (Slavs).
