The name and the idea of "Vol.67" refers to the monumental ethnographic miscellany by Oskar Kolberg: The Folk: its customs, life (...), songs, music, and dances. Volume 67 contains sheet music of folk tunes arranged for piano.
Lautari have long been involved in the various efforts to restore the splendour of Polish folk music: from playing in crudo to accompany dancing to participation in avant-garde music projects. They performed at barn dances, in jazz clubs, concert halls in Poland and abroad. Knowing how inadequate musical notation is as a means of recording folk music, they learned from village musicians. During this music adventure, they have often resorted to Kolberg's work – and not only to the mere tunes, but also the wide cultural context of music.
