This accordion trio, founded in 1996, is a phenomenon on the European and global music market. Using all the advantages of the accordion in thier creations, they continually explore the new possibilities of this instrument, changing the way that it is perceived.
Their concerts are musical performances that contain action and drama. The group performs their own music, composed mainly by its leader – Janusz Wojtarowicz.
Motion Trio has collaborated with famous musicans from Poland and abroad, including Bobby McFerrin, Michael Nyman, Tomasz Stańko and Michał Urbaniak. They also collaborate with conductors (Krzysztof Penderecki) and composers, Polish and foreign orchestras, celebrities of clasiccal, jazz and ethno scene, like Trilok Gurtu, Zohar Fresco. There is not enough space to mention everyone. Those who perceive the accordion as an archaic instrument usually change totally their views after the concert of the group.
Motion Trio celebrates 20th anniversary in 2017, after playing their music in over forty countries on all continents, they still say that they are as passionate about heavy metal as we are about jazz or contemporary music.
