Mizia & Mizia Blues Band

Mizia & Mizia Blues Band formed by the duo of Włodek and Stefan Mizia (son and father) debuted in 2000 in Wroclaw. A few years later, the band was joined by another Mizia – Witek, and other musicians – Maciek Wolański and Grzegorz Siwicki, and continued to explore the world of blues standards, both Polish and international.

Today they are already a well-known blues brand in some part of Polish Blues comunity. They have been working it out for years, winning important awards, performing at the most important blues festivals, including 5 times at "Rawa Blues Festival" in Katowice. Of course, they are constantly present at Wroclaw's Guitar Guinness World Record (many times playing on the main stage). They also promoted Wroclaw as the European Capital of Culture abroad, e.g. at the "ReWoodstock" festival in Italy. However, their uniqueness is proved not only by their achievements on stage, but most of all by their activity for the local community of Wroclaw and its surroundings. They are known in all Wroclaw music clubs, housing estates and districts – where they played regularly at open-air events. They have visited schools, companies and municipal institutions to which they added splendour to their anniversaries with their music. But most of all, they are known to those whom they have not refused to support by playing charity concerts for their benefit.

They have already recorded seven albums. The last one, whose premiere took place on 16 September 2021 (International Day of Blues), differs significantly from the previous releases. Although this family, Wroclaw-based team has been active on the Polish blues scene for 20 years, so far they have not had such an album in their collection. Not only because it sums up two decades of activity, but also because the band, so far playing mainly Polish and world blues standards, recorded their own material for the first time. The lyrics of the songs, inspired by everyday life and experiences of their authors, the aforementioned founders of the band – the Mizia family – show the world from the positive side. The musical layer of all the songs is consistently Chicago blues, enriched with rock inspirations, ballads and even reggae.
